Fines and fees
Fine and Fee Regulations
The Dolton Public Library District will NOT loan materials to patrons who are known to have overdue obligations (unpaid fines or overdue, lost, or damaged materials) at any library in Illinois.
Dolton patrons whose fines have accumulated to $1.00 or more will be denied borrowing privileges until all fines are cleared. Prior to the renewal of patron’s library card, all financial obligations must be paid.
Charges for lost materials will be the cost of the material and a non-refundable processing fee of $5.00 on all items. Once materials have been designated as LOST, no later changes will be made to this status. Charges for material overdue more than 6 months will be accumulated fines — not to exceed cost of material — and a non-refundable processing fee of $5.00 will be assessed.
