Community Room Use

Are you looking for a space to hold a public event?

The Dolton Public Library District's community rooms are available to all community groups and organizations whose objectives are cultural or educational in character, subject to the rules and regulations established by the Board of Trustees.

Types of meetings

Priority will be given to library-connected groups and programs and Dolton-based organizations.  Rooms are not available for social, political, partisan, or religious purposes; for benefit of private individuals or commercial ventures; or any activities involving excessive noise, safety hazards, and security risks which would materially and substantially interfere with proper functions of the Library.  Groups may not charge admission nor request donations for attendance or participation.  All meetings held in the library are open to the public.

Use of a library meeting room by an organization does not imply library support of the objectives of the organization.

Written application for use of a community room must be made by a Dolton library card holder in good standing.

The library reserves the right to withdraw a previously approved room confirmation if the room is needed by the Library.  Advance notice will be given to the organization a minimum of two weeks in advance when possible.
