Dolton Kids Read

As a quick reminder to all parents and caregivers, we encourage you to visit the library.  This will help orient your children to continued use of the library and the many programs that we offer, which may help and encourage your children in their academic and social pursuits.  The library is meant to be a community asset, and a place for quiet study and pleasant entertainment.  We greatly appreciate your cooperation and welcome your support and volunteerism.  We wish that as you move into the holiday season, you will find comfort, joy, and most of all, Peace!

Winter Reading Program

Just a reminder to those who were a part of the Summer Reading Program:  the reading program is ongoing and you can continue to turn in your book log to claim prizes.  Please keep an eye on the prize palace as we add new and exciting items!  For old and new members to the program, we would like for you to read ten books and attend five programs by February 28, 2010.  The Youth Services Department will also offer a surprise gift incentive for the member who invites the most new young people to join the Winter Reading Program.  For more information, please come into the library and ask to speak to a Youth Services representative, or contact The Youth Services Department at (708) 849-2385.

What's Else Is Scheduled This Winter?

Some of your favorite Youth Service Programs have returned and we hope you can come join us for lots of fun.  Movie Time, Craft Time, and Toddler Time will continue.  The Graphic Novels Club, the Tween-U-Teens Book Club, and the highly popular, Now We're Cooking program are also back.  This holiday season, Photos with Santa returns, as well as special programming to celebrate Black History Month and the life and times of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  All this and much more is scheduled!
