Fine and Fee Regulations

The Dolton Public Library District will NOT loan materials to patrons who are known to have overdue obligations (unpaid fines or overdue, lost, or damaged materials) at any library in Illinois.

Dolton patrons whose fines have accumulated to $1.00 or more or who have one or more books overdue beyond seven (7) days will be denied borrowing privileges until restitution has been made.  Prior to the renewal of patron's library card, all financial obligations must be paid.

Charges for lost materials will be the cost of the material and a non-refundable processing fee of $5.00 on all items.  Once materials have been designated as LOST, no later changes will be made to this status.  Charges for material overdue more than 6 months will be accumulated fines -- not to exceed cost of material -- and a non-refundable processing fee of $5.00 will be assessed.

When checks made for payment to the library for fines, lost books, fees, etc. are returned by the bank, the patron will be charged $25.00.

"If God kills, lies, cheats, discriminates, and otherwise behaves in a manner that puts the Mafia to shame, that's Okay, he's God. He can do whatever he wants. Anyone who adheres to this philosophy has had his sense of morality, decency, justice and humaneness warped beyond recognition by the very book that is supposedly preaching the opposite."
