The Dolton Public Library District service area coincides with the boundaries of the Village of Dolton. See attached map???
All residents of Dolton
are eligible for free library cards from the Dolton Library after completely filling out the registration card and showing two proper forms of identification; such as driver's license, state photo ID, voter's card, utility bill showing names and address, student's addresses verified by their teachers. Library cards are valid for three years from the date issued or until termination of residency or when overdue fines on materials occur beyond an established limit. Patrons with no outstanding charges will have their cards renewed upon presentation of current identification for another three (3) year period.
Non-residents who own property in Dolton
and pay real estate taxes are eligible for a library card. There may be only one non-resident card issued for each parcel of taxable property. The card will be in the name of an individual, and will be valid for one (1) year. A current tax bill receipt will serve as proof of eligibility.
A non-resident of Dolton
for whom this is their closest library, is eligible for a non-resident card, upon paying an amount of money equal to the following formula:
Tax levy amount รท Population x Average size household
The non-resident card fee for 05/06 is $112.00. The card will be a family card, and will be valid for one (1) year. The non-resident library card shall accord the same services provided to residents, including reciprocal borrowing privileges.
