If you're looking for a certain book, video, or musical work that's not in our collection, stop at the Reference/Information Desk and ask a librarian about it. If it can be found at another library, we'll be happy to inter-library loan (ILL) it for you. An item that is ILL'd is delivered to our library and you check it out at our library and also return it here, just as you do items from our own collection. We have access to the collections of most suburban libraries, so if it's at all possible, we'll get it for you. If your time restrictions allow, we can also borrow materials for you from libraries throughout Illinois.
The library also offers phone-in reference service. The librarians at the reference desk are happy to place in-house and ILL holds over the phone, set aside books you request, and handle brief reference questions. In-depth research questions do require a visit to the library! Call (708) 849-2385 for assistance today.
Kindles, E-books and Nooks
The Dolton Public Library District is interested in getting your feedback on whether or not we should purchase e-books that you can download to your Kindle, Nook, or e-reader. We have heard from some patrons, but we need more interest before subscribing to this service.
Please stop by the library on Wednesday, April 25th at 7pm to find out more. If you are interested but cannot attend, please contact Laura Fazio at (708) 849-2385 and express your support.
