Programming
Enriching the community one event at a time
Library programming provides alternate ways to enrich the community in terms of culture, information and entertainment within the library environment. The Library will attempt to provide a variety of programming to appeal to the various age groups and interests of residents and to attract them to the Library. Those formats which have wide appeal; e.g., story hours for preschoolers and travel movies, will be repeated.
Space limitations may require pre-registration. In the event of a space limitation, Dolton residents will receive first priority.
Pre-registration is requested for most adult programs, but many patrons wait until the last moment to sign up, only to find the program has been cancelled due to low enrollment. To avoid this disappointment, we encourage you to register as soon as possible if you are interested in a program.
Whenever possible there will be no charge for programs except for materials. Refunds will be given only if a program is canceled.
An effort will be made to avoid duplicate programs offered by other community groups unless the program is in demand.
The Dolton Public Library is subject to the requirements of The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Anyone who plans to attend a program and needs special accommodations, or has a question regarding library accessibility, may phone the Business Office at (708) 849-2385 at least 7 working days prior to the event.
